Prague - Representatives of Prague 5, the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR), Sekyra Group, and Czech Railways today signed a memorandum on cooperation for the Smíchov City project. A new district is set to be developed near Smíchov Railway Station. The discussion about the project will also involve Prague residents, who will be able to view the project at the Small Gallery of Prague 5 in the town hall building. Sekyra Group plans to construct apartments and offices in Smíchov.

"The Smíchov City project is being developed in the area of Prague 5. Therefore, the fifth district has taken on the role of coordinator for the discussion between the investor, IPR, and the public," said Mayor Pavel Richter (TOP 09).

According to Deputy Mayor Petra Kolínská (SZ), the city aims to establish a new type of cooperation and communication between private investors, local government, citizens, local entrepreneurs, and urban planners.

The exhibition will be held at the gallery on Štefánikova Street until the end of June. It focuses primarily on presenting the northern part of the area with an emphasis on the public spaces of the boulevard, two parks, and internal streets. People will be able to express their opinions on the construction directly at the gallery. Suggestions and ideas can also be submitted via an online questionnaire on the website smichovcity.praha5.cz. Comments can be made until June 3, 2017.

On an area of 25 hectares, there are plans for about 143,000 m2 of residential space and 139,000 m2 of office space, with the remainder allocated for shops and public institutions. Block houses are to be divided into housing entrances. It is not yet clear when construction will begin.
