Pasohlávky - The regional company Thermal Pasohlávky, which was preparing the construction of a spa in Pasohlávky near Brno at the Novomlýn railway stations, has published details of the project on the EIA information portal and has started assessing its environmental impact. The document indicates that two hotels, a medical institution, therapeutic baths, a rehabilitation center, apartment buildings, family and residential homes for the elderly, a senior home, and various recreational facilities are to be built on 27 hectares. Approximately 600 employees are expected to work in the spa area.
The document for assessing the environmental impact of the project was processed on December 12 of last year, when it was still assumed that the South Moravian Region would undertake the construction together with the Chinese company RiseSun. However, the region is now awaiting offers from investors to whom it will sell the land, and they will build according to the region's conditions with their own funds.
On the peninsula that extends into the Mušov reservoir, two areas will be created. One will be for the spa, while the other will primarily serve residential purposes.
The spa area will include a medical house with a capacity of 600 people, the specialized treatment facility will have 300 beds, the natural healing spa will house 400 beds, and the diagnostic and rehabilitation center will have 200 beds. Meanwhile, Martin Intterheim, the chairman of the board of Thermal Pasohlávky, mentioned at the beginning of December the possibility of reducing the permanent bed capacity to 240.
The spa area will also include two hotels with 470 beds, as well as a sports hall, shops, and services. Apartment buildings with 100 units will serve for recreation.
In the residential area, there will be one senior home with 180 beds, senior houses with 70 apartments, family homes for seniors with 45 apartments, as well as apartment houses with 45 apartments and unspecified accommodation facilities with 100 beds.
The region has built infrastructure in the previous years, so the area is currently intersected by abandoned roads and engineering networks. Although it is unclear who will be the investor for the construction, the document estimates the start of construction to be in the third quarter of this year and completion in 2021.
The authors of the document also state that the anticipated intensity of vehicular traffic will be 180 freight and 2400 passenger cars daily. If all the vehicles arrived via road I/52, the traffic intensity in the affected section would increase by approximately one fifth.
