Prague - From today, residents of Prague can travel to Letňany by metro. Trains on line C will stop at three new stations - Střížkov, Prosek, and Letňany. With the commissioning of this new section, some bus lines will cease operations while others will change their routes.
Changes to bus lines related to the opening of the metro to Letňany will occur on Friday. 12 bus lines will stop operating, while more than thirty others will run on modified routes or will have shorter intervals. The metro on line C will also arrive more frequently, with intervals of 115 seconds during peak times compared to the current two minutes.
The construction of the new section, which measures 4.6 kilometers, cost 15.5 billion crowns. According to the spokesperson for the company, Ondřej Pečený, the operation of this new section will cost 400 million crowns annually. There will be 42 trains operating on line C.
Due to changes in transport in the northeastern part of Prague, Ropid is issuing a regional timetable that will be available at transport company information centers, in the offices of affected district municipalities, or at an information booth in the Letňany metro station. This will be open from Thursday to Monday, May 12. People can also download the timetable from the website www.ropid.cz.
