The new regional headquarters of ČSOB in H. Králové is in the rough construction phase

Hradec Králové - The building of the new regional headquarters of Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB) in Hradec Králové, which upon completion will accommodate more than 1,000 bank employees, is at the rough construction stage. The start of operations is planned for 2021. This was communicated by the bank's representatives to ČTK. Work began in December 2018.

"In July, the rough construction of the reinforced concrete skeleton with façade structures, green roofs, and technical equipment was completed," the bank stated.

The first phase of construction of the largest building of ČSOB outside Prague, being built in the Aldis zone on the Elbe waterfront in Hradec Králové, is being provided by Geosan Group, while the reinforced concrete skeleton is being managed by Syner. The project, with a footprint of one hundred by one hundred meters, promises an environmentally friendly construction.

"We are building a self-sufficient building, which is environmentally friendly. Based on experiences from both objects of the Campus in the Prague Radlice, we are fine-tuning the technological equipment of the building until the last moment to optimize the function and operation of the house," said the building's architect from the Projektil studio, Roman Brychta. "Heating and cooling will utilize heat pumps drawing energy from the ground massif through 108 energy wells up to 200 meters deep," said Ivo Koukol, the director of building construction at ČSOB.

The call center and processing center along with the regional bank branch will move to the new building. The facility will also have a café open to the public and small shops and services.

The building will be the last in a series of large structures on Eliščina nábřeží. ČSOB has been preparing the project for a longer period. In October 2015, it signed a contract with the city for the sale of 8,128 square meters of land in the Aldis zone for 28.45 million crowns. Subsequently, it selected the design from the Projektil architects' studio for the construction's shape, which previously designed the Study and Research Library building in Hradec Králové, awarded the title Building of the Year in 2009.

The bank is also cooperating with the city to create a concept for public spaces throughout the Aldis area. In 2003, the city hall constructed a pedestrian boulevard in the Aldis zone for 23 million crowns, which is to be followed by a footbridge over the Elbe.
