Náměšť nad Oslavou - The Town Hall in Náměšť nad Oslavou will fully finance two significant investment projects - the construction of a new gymnasium at the elementary school and the revitalization of the Zborovská housing estate. The city was unsuccessful in applying for a state subsidy, but according to Mayor Vladimír Měrka, the investments must start. The funding for both projects was approved today by the city councilors.
The construction of the gymnasium at Komenského Elementary School has a total budget of 13.5 million crowns, including equipment. Just under eight million crowns has already been approved in the budget for this year, and the councilors approved an increase of 1.7 million crowns. Work is set to begin at the end of May, with completion expected in the second phase in 2018.
"The new gym will be built between the parish building and the parish garden in the center of the town. The school is over 130 years old, and students only exercise in two adapted rooms. The space and equipment are completely inadequate," Měrka told ČTK. According to Měrka, the new gym will also serve the public.
The regeneration of the Zborovská housing estate from the 1970s, with a budget of nearly 14 million crowns, will also take place in two phases. This year, 7.4 million crowns is expected to be invested, while the approved budget only anticipates 4.3 million crowns. "This year, the roads, sidewalks, parking lots, and public lighting will be repaired, and a new sewer system will be created. Next year will see landscaping, planting of public greenery, and street furniture," the mayor stated.
The budget for Náměšť nad Oslavou for 2017 was approved last December with revenues and expenditures of 99 million crowns.
