On the Brno Riviera, a traffic education complex will begin construction this year

Brno - This year, a transportation education complex will begin construction in Brno, which is set to be the largest in the country. It will be located in the northwestern part of the Riviéra recreational zone, where there is currently a deteriorating castle, beach volleyball courts, and last summer an outdoor cinema. The competitive price estimates costs at 80 million crowns, stated Michaela Radimská, spokesperson for the city company Starez Sport, to ČTK.
    If a contractor is successfully selected, construction is expected to commence this summer, and the facility could open to the public next fall. "There will be a partially covered traffic playground here, which will be used for traffic education and will also be accessible to the public. People will find a rental service for bicycles and tricycles," said Radimská. The castle will serve as a background facility, which is scheduled for a complete renovation.
    The operation of the traffic playground will be managed by the municipal police. "We are still preparing specific programs. We would like to maximize the use of the playground not only by schools from Brno but from the entire region," said Michal Simandl, spokesperson for the municipal police, to ČTK.
    The renovation will also extend to the paths, benches, relaxation areas, and all furniture in the area. "A track for skaters will also be created here," added Radimská. However, during construction, the operation of the area will be partially limited. It will not affect the swimming pool, but for example, the beach volleyball courts will be closed; however, they will remain within the area.
    A smaller traffic playground is available in Brno, for example, near the elementary school in Komín, on Hudcova Street, or in Lužánky.
