Among the buildings of the year in Vysočina is the building in the courtyard of Bohuslavice and the restored castle in Telč

Nové Město na Moravě - The title of Building of the Year in the Vysočina Region for 2023 has been awarded by the expert jury to five projects. They praised the reconstruction of the municipal building in Jimramov, which houses the Just guesthouse, the restoration of the chateau in Telč, the completion of the biathlon complex in Nové Město na Moravě, and the modification of the intersection in Kamenice nad Lipou. An atypical wooden structure in the Agricultural Courtyard in Bohuslavice received not only the title but also the most SMS votes from the public and an award from the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians in Construction (ČKAIT).

The aim of the competition is to recognize the best new buildings and reconstructions, marking its 22nd edition this year. A total of 19 projects were submitted, and the results were announced today by the organizers in Nové Město na Moravě.

The Agricultural Courtyard in Bohuslavice in the Jihlava district offers a base for vacations and various events. The new multifunctional building received the title of Building of the Year for its monumental yet simple wooden structure made of massive trunks.

At the state chateau in Telč, the jury praised the extensive construction and restoration work. This UNESCO monument has undergone such work after more than a hundred years. The Nové Město Biathlon Complex, Vysočina Arena, was recognized for its sensitive addition of stands with appropriate facilities for athletes and visitors.

The Just guesthouse in Jimramov in the Žďár district impressed the jury with its inspiring transformation of the architecturally protected municipal building in the center. The late classicist building was previously used as an agricultural homestead.

The new roundabout with an artistic design of a lime leaf and modifications to the connecting roads in the center of Kamenice nad Lipou received the title of Building of the Year for a securely defined traffic area. The investor for this project was the region along with the town.

The competing buildings also received six professional honorable mentions and awards from the organizers and partners of the competition. Details about the submitted projects can be found on the website.

The exhibition of construction projects is organized by the Vysočina Construction Association in cooperation with the Trades Union of Entrepreneurs in Construction, ČKAIT, and the Vysočina Region.
