Prague - People can from today vote for the winner of the special award Monuments Thank You, which is part of the annual competition for the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ) Patrimonium pro futuro Award (Heritage for the Future). They can choose from 24 nominees who managed to discover, repair or save something in heritage care last year. Voting takes place on the NPÚ website until September 16. This was announced by the spokesperson of the institute, Jana Hartmanová.
The public can vote across four categories: "monument restoration, conservation", "discovery, find of the year", "presentation of values", and "monument rescue." Each of the proposed candidates is characterized by a text supplemented with photographs.
The Monuments Thank You Award is part of the annual competition for the NPÚ Patrimonium pro futuro Award. "The Patrimonium pro futuro Award has been announced and awarded by NPÚ since 2014 in an effort to evaluate and highlight what has been achieved in the field of heritage care, and to honor those who have contributed to successful work," the spokesperson stated. A professional jury determines the winner of each of the four categories, while the public selects one winner across all categories.
The winner of the Monuments Thank You Award will be announced alongside the winners of the Patrimonium pro futuro Award at the ceremonial awards event on October 2 at Lemberk Castle in the Liberec region. Last year, the public's winner was Pavel David for the rescue of the Renaissance fortress Kobylků from Kobylí in Podolí.
