Liberec – Liberec canceled the competition for the reconstruction of the Uranyl administrative building, the winner withdrew, and the other two bidders did not meet the conditions of the procedure. The deputy mayor Radka Loučková Kotasová informed journalists about this today. The city hall wants to announce the contract, which is approximately 84 million crowns excluding tax, as soon as possible.
The city hall received three bids in the competition, the best one was for 78.75 million crowns. "Unfortunately, the potential winner withdrew from the competition, we can only speculate as to why," said the deputy mayor. According to her, they could not accept the bids of the other two bidders, who wanted 84.4 million and 90.23 million. "They were unable to provide references as required by the procurement documentation. Therefore, we had no choice but to cancel this competition and we will restart it as soon as possible," added Loučková Kotasová.
The seven-story office building next to the bus station needs to restore mainly its facade, which poses a danger to its surroundings. There is protective scaffolding around Uran to prevent anything from falling onto the sidewalk that leads to the train station. The new facade will be made of galvanized sheet metal, replacing the so-called boletice panels. During the reconstruction, air conditioning, electrical installation, and central heating will also be done. The work is planned to last for eight months.
Employees of the social department already vacated Uran in September. Approximately 60 workers relocated to the S Tower building. Employees of the traffic registry will also need to vacate Uran, temporary shelter will be provided in the regional office building. They are expected to move to where the vaccination center is located today.
