Chrudim - The area of the former summer cinema in Chrudim will not be transformed into a parking lot or hotel. The city management will follow a study that mainly proposes greenery for the location by the river behind the museum building. The public will get acquainted with the appearance of the area in the first half of December, said Mayor Jan Čechlovský. "A large space is given to green areas and park arrangements to an extent we never even imagined, as it was hidden behind the projection screen," said Čechlovský. By removing the projection area, a large space will be opened up with the possibility of using it for multiple functions, including incorporating the river and the stream that surround the location. The city will proceed according to the study by the Prague architectural office Ateliér K2, which will also be developing other project documentation. The specific design is still being kept secret by the city, which plans to present it only at a public discussion that the creators of the study will also attend. "There will be no asphalt, no concrete, which the residents were concerned about," Čechlovský stated. The permanent summer cinema in Chrudim was experimentally closed in 2006 and was definitively abolished a year later. This year, films were screened outdoors at the improvised summer cinema Prachárna near the Ressel Square.
