Kutná Hora - Kutná Hora will announce tenders for extensive reconstruction of the Vlašský dvůr. The total costs will be 120 million crowns, of which 89 million will be covered by a grant. The town hall has obtained funds for the project from the Integrated Regional Operational Program. The reconstruction will begin in a few months and should be completed by the end of next year, Mayor Josef Viktora (ANO) said to reporters today. "It is possible to request an extension of the deadline, as there has been a delay in the project," the mayor stated.
The city council approved the announcement of tenders for construction work, the acquisition of exhibitions, and adjustments to the adjacent park. In the former medieval mint, which is among other things the seat of the city office, new water, electricity, and sewage systems need to be installed. The project also plans to make new areas accessible to the public and to enhance the overall attractiveness of the building. Aside from restoring the monument, the goal is to increase visitor traffic to the city center and bring life back to the park.
The work will include the installation of an elevator and ensuring barrier-free access to the building and the park, attic insulation, and the creation of new storage rooms. Extensive restoration work is also planned to restore part of the original interiors to the neo-Gothic form from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The reconstruction of the city office's offices cannot be financed from the assigned grant. Nevertheless, the town hall decided to undertake a complete reconstruction of all spaces as part of one construction project.
The Vlašský dvůr is a complex of buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries, and its history is linked to a rich silver deposit. It is likely named after the Wallachian masters who were summoned by the king from Florence.
