Prague - One of the few sacred buildings constructed during the time of communist dictatorship, and the only newly built Roman Catholic church in Bohemia between 1949-1989 is St. Wenceslas Church in Most, which was solemnly consecrated on December 9, 1989. It was built at the state's expense as a replacement for the relocated parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and for the demolished churches in old Most, which had to give way to the mining of brown coal along with the city.

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Wenceslas in Most was built between 1983 and 1989. The church, whose design was created by architect Michal Sborwitz, was constructed in the garden of the deanery, and by order of the communist regime, its construction could not include a tower, belfry, or any other externally visible religious elements. The interior of the church is the work of academic sculptor Bořivoj Rak. The building measures 19 meters in length and has a width of 16 meters, accommodating approximately 150 worshippers.

In 1993, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was consecrated again in its new location.
