Prague – The KKCG Real Estate Group, part of entrepreneur Karel Komárek's KKCG group, has officially opened the Bořislavka Center, an office and retail complex in Prague 6. Its construction took three years, and the costs amounted to over 3.5 billion crowns. The complex consists of four buildings shaped like irregular glass crystals. The first shops are set to open on Friday, and the center is expected to gradually fill up by the end of the year.
"The crystals at Bořislavka are our largest project to date. It represents valuable contemporary architecture that urbanistically completes this part of Prague 6. It pleasantly enhances civic amenities and offers work and retail spaces. The unique artworks for me represent a perfect finish to the project,” said Pujman.
KKCG, as the investor, purchased the land between Evropská, Liberijská, and Kladenská streets in 2012 and subsequently announced an international architectural competition. The winning design was created by the architectural office Aulík Fišer Architekti (AFA). The main authors of the solution are Jan Aulík and Leoš Horák.
The buildings contain almost 30,000 m² of office space. Another 10,000 m² is allocated to more than 60 retail tenants. There are 580 underground parking spaces available. The development includes electric charging stations. According to Pujman, the offices are fully occupied, and the retail spaces are 85 percent filled.
"We welcome that the new center will expand civic amenities in the area, which the local residents and those in the broader surroundings desired. I believe that many modern shops, restaurants, and services that will open here will suitably complement the existing offerings for citizens. Combined with the new office spaces, this center will bring entirely new energy to Bořislavka and its surroundings,” added the mayor of Prague 6, Ondřej Kolář (for TOP 09).
On Friday, the first shops or branches will open in the center. These include Lidl, DM drogerie, Knihy Dobrovský, a branch of Sazka and Komerční banka, AKM stationery, Tescom, Fortuna, Deluxe Flowers, Grand Optical, Exchange, Valmont tobacco, and the café The Miners.
The buildings will also serve as the headquarters for companies belonging to the KKCG group. Throughout June, companies such as KKCG Real Estate, Sazka, Sazka Group, MND, and KKCG Technologies will move in. In the fall, employees from Škofin, Prague Water Management Company, IGT Czech Republic, and MM&C are expected to relocate here.
Regarding the Sazka building in Prague 9, from which employees will transition to Bořislavka, according to Pujman, KKCG must first purchase it from the sister company Sazka. "We are considering its best use. There could be a hotel here, for example. We do not want to sell the building yet, but if an interesting offer comes up, we cannot rule it out,” Pujman told ČTK.
