Prague - The leadership of TOP 09, which won the elections in Prague, according to today's Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD), disagrees with the relocation of the Slav Epic. Representatives of Prague's TOP 09 believe that the gigantic work of Mucha should remain in Moravský Krumlov until the capital city builds a dignified building for its permanent exhibition, the newspaper states. "We want to give Krumlov time. Although Mucha's canvases belong to the capital city, we do not like the way they were supposed to be moved to Prague," the paper quotes the chairman of Prague's TOP 09 František Laudát. However, this is not agreed upon by the current city councilor for culture Ondřej Pecha (ODS). "The city hall has already paid enough for the relocation of the work; it will be difficult to stop it now," Pecha said. The newspaper reminds that Krumlov is resisting the relocation, even though some of the paintings are already rolled up and just waiting to be transported. Laudát admitted that he has not yet studied the issue thoroughly. However, according to him, it is important that Moravský Krumlov "does not experience such a shock," has the opportunity to prepare for the removal of the works, and finds another center for tourism. In Krumlov, discussions are ongoing about the future mayor, but according to MfD, the most likely candidate is the head of the local TOP 09 Tomáš Třetina. He told the newspaper that he wants to keep the Epic at the castle. "Whoever wins the election would support its staying where it is," stated Třetina.
