Brno - At the festival Re:publika 1918-2018, which will take place at the turn of May and June in Brno, the Slav Epic by painter Alfons Mucha is expected to be exhibited. Mayor Petr Vokřál (ANO) is negotiating its loan with Prague's Mayor Adriana Krnáčová (ANO). The chance is currently 90 percent, he said at a press conference at the Brno travel trade fairs Go and Regiontour.

"I was thinking that we already have a lot in Brno. Fireworks, the Motorcycle Grand Prix, the exhibition center, and I wondered what we don't have. Mucha's Epic came to mind. And now I can say with the words of a classic: Mucha will be,"
Vokřál unexpectedly announced.

The cycle of 20 large-format paintings that Mucha painted between 1912-1926 was exhibited at the castle in Moravský Krumlov until 2012 and was essentially the only reason why tourists visited the town in the Znojmo area. However, at that time it was requested by Prague as the owner, and since then the paintings have been in storage because the capital city does not have the facilities for their long-term display.

There have also been long-term and thus far unsuccessful negotiations about their return to Krumlov. Now, visitors to the Brno festival, which will take place from May 26 to June 17 at the Brno exhibition center, should see them.
