Brno - Hundreds of people took advantage of the unique opportunity to explore the famous Brno villas in the evening yesterday. The Löw-Beer, Stiassni, Tugendhat, and Jurkovič villas joined the Hradozámecká noc festival for the first time in 2015. In addition to guided tours for visitors, the organizers also prepared concerts. The ČTK was informed about this by the organizers.
    Nearly a hundred people came within the first hour of the program to the Jurkovič villa in Brno-Žabovřesky. The villa is unique in that it was built by the architect himself, who also lived there. The Brno villas are owned by various institutions. The Tugendhat villa belongs to Brno, the Jurkovič villa is managed by the state through the Moravian Gallery, the Stiassni villa is managed by the National Heritage Institute, and the Löw-Beer villa is managed by the Brno Museum, which falls under the South Moravian Region.
    The uniqueness of the villas, according to Rostislav Koryčánek from the Moravian Gallery, leads the institutions to collaborate. According to him, the Hradozámecká noc is just one example.
    "Visitors can experience an exceptional situation during evening and night tours. Each villa also has its own composed program, which we will try to develop further in the coming years,” said Koryčánek, who is in charge of the Jurkovič villa.
    According to him, Brno has a significant position in terms of the number of buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries available here. "We wouldn't even find four villas open to the public in Prague," Koryčánek stated.
    This year, the renovated Löw-Beer villa was added to the quartet of open villas. It still does not have interior furnishings. However, visitors can tour the spaces with a guide and learn information about the family members, especially Alfred Löw-Beer, the father of Greta Tugendhat. Today, the program in the villa was enhanced by music from the swing group Melody Gentleman, and all 300 tickets were sold out. Petra Svobodová, who is in charge of the villa, informed the ČTK about this.
