Prague - Czech Television (ČT) has announced a tender for the construction of a new studio in Brno. The contract, valued at 340 million crowns, includes the realization of a complex of studios and other spaces for the production and broadcasting of programs. This follows from information on the website of the Public Procurement Bulletin.

"The construction of the new studio will ensure that the needs of the contracting authority are met by enabling efficient program production and will also serve as a backup broadcasting center for the contracting authority," stated ČT in the contract. Construction work is set to begin next May, with completion expected in September 2014.
The studio will be built in Brno-Líšeň on land purchased by ČT from Zetor. According to ČT's estimates, the original cost of construction was around 600 million crowns. Last autumn, ČT then reduced it to 350 to 400 million crowns, postponing the construction of a studio that is to be part of the studio to a later date.
