Brno - The project documentation for the new television studio of Czech Television in Brno-Líšeň will be prepared by the Zlín-based company S-projekt plus. CTK was informed of this by the spokeswoman of CT Brno, Hana Orošová. The company won the tender announced by the public television in December last year. The expected cost of preparing the documentation was 21 million crowns, and the entire project, including construction, is expected to cost approximately 600 million CZK according to earlier information. Seven companies registered for the public commercial competition. The selection committee proposed S-projekt plus as the winning company to the general director of CT Jiří Janeček, who agreed. According to CT, none of the participants in the tender appealed against the result. "The individual phases of the project documentation will be completed by the middle of 2011," said Orošová. The new studio is expected to be built from the second half of next year until mid-2013. S-projekt plus was founded in 1995. In the past, according to its website, it has worked or collaborated on projects for the Labor Office in Vyškov, the Czech Technology Park in Brno, the City Office in Luhačovice, the CTP Invest technology park in Modřice near Brno, and the workshop of the Transport Company Zlín Otrokovice. The new CT studio in Brno will be located in Líšeň on land that CT purchased last autumn for 40 million crowns from the Brno-based Zetoru. The area covers 17,000 square meters. According to CT's vision, the new studio should offer, among other things, news studios, facilities for television technology such as workshops, service, or archive, and necessary administrative spaces. The building is also planned to include a fully variable multifunctional hall for the production of television programs. Currently, the television is based in two buildings in the city center, but these do not fully meet CT's needs. The buildings date back to the First Republic and have not been completely renovated to this day. The Typos building on Jezuitská Street was originally a residential building, and the spaces in the basement, which now house the studio, used to be a dance hall. The building on Běhounská Street previously served as a bank. CT also has warehouses and garages in Židenice. It would like to sell all the buildings and use the proceeds to cover part of the costs for the construction of the new headquarters.
