Prague - The company ČSAD Praha, which owns the bus station in Florenc and adjacent land, plans to build its own office building, Florenc Gate, on one of these plots under the highway. Today's information from the website iDnes.cz was confirmed to the Czech Press Agency by the spokesperson for the investment group Penta, Ivo Mravinac. Penta intends to build a shopping center in this location, where approximately 100,000 square meters of office space, shops, and other facilities are to be created for 6.5 billion CZK. Penta has appealed against the company's intention.

ČSAD Praha holding, as the operator of the Florenc bus station, wants to implement the Florenc Gate project and will continue with the steps that will enable its realization. "We wanted to agree with Penta so that both projects could be developed on the land. However, Penta has never taken advantage of that option," said ČSAD director Pavel Vráblík to iDnes.cz.

According to Mravinac, Penta is prepared for this variant. "When we presented the project to the public in May, we clearly stated that to realize part of it near the bus station, we must reach an agreement with the landowner. If this does not happen, the project will be smaller in that regard," Mravinac told the Czech Press Agency today. The planned shopping center is to be created according to the design by the architectural studio of the recently deceased famous British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. It will consist of eight buildings.

According to Mravinac, Penta wants to develop the mentioned area around Masaryk Station based on a consensus with the city hall, city districts, and landowners. "We want this broader city center to be addressed as a whole, to be easily accessible, and to serve the public good overall," Mravinac added.

According to him, Penta first submitted an objection against the non-existing coordination, then appealed. "The city hall and Prague 1 take a similar stance. We are negotiating with the landowner and do not rule out the possibility that we might eventually withdraw the appeal," Mravinac added.
