The Architectural Institute in Prague (ARCHIP), a new private international college, is currently accepting applications for its Bachelor of Architecture Programme in English. ARCHIP grants scholarships of 90%, 60% and 30% of the tuition fees to approximately half of accepted students for the 2011/2012 academic year. The plan to start an international school of architecture in Prague originated within a group of people led by architects Martin Roubík (1949–2008) and Regina Loukotová. From 2010, ARCHIP has accreditation from the Czech Ministry of Education and State recognition. This accreditation is fully reciprocal within the European Union. Approximately 60 students a year will study in the school’s unique premises in the Veletržní Palace, a heritage- listed Modernist landmark. ARCHIP also benefits from being situated in the centre of Europe, in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Prague is considered to be one of the most magnificent cities in the world, with an historic town centre that has been UNESCO listed since 1992. ARCHIP’s educational philosophy stresses the synchronicity of architecture with its allied disciplines and international “best practice” teaching methods. International faculty members and Czechs with extensive foreign experience are well represented in the staff, supplementing leading Czech architects and esteemed academics in the fields of theory, visual arts and history. During the 2011/2012 academic year, ARCHIP will grant scholarships in the amount of 90%, 60% and 30% of the tuition fees. The scholarships will be granted to approximately half of accepted students for one academic year, based on their admission examination ranking. The academic year starts in autumn 2011; the online application deadline is March 31st 2011. For more information please visit www.archip.eu.
