The new author exhibition project of NZM Prague focuses on a significant representative of Czech gardening at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and is a good opportunity to recall the legacy of this outstanding gardener for the current generation of gardeners. Through the efforts of the National Agricultural Museum Prague, a very extensive archive of projects has been made accessible, which - among other things - also provides a research basis for the interpretation of the creative work of František Thomayer. The approach of the exhibition's creators allows insight into the professional and social life of the last quarter of the 19th century when František Thomayer became the city gardener of the royal capital Prague. In this context, it is necessary to remember that in his role as city gardener, he directly influenced the creation or personally participated in the organization of the most significant parks in Prague, which still today are an inseparable part of the green system of the capital city of Prague. A true professional treasure of the NZM Prague archive consists of entire preserved projects or their parts that were created through the activities of František Thomayer's private studio. These projects concern a series of still-existing objects (castle parks, public or spa parks, private gardens, etc.). The exhibition also includes an interactive accompanying program for children and youth as well as for adults.
