Prague - The first year of the Biennale of Experimental Architecture will begin today at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague. The international event maps current trends and methods in architectural design. The exhibition will present 75 models from ten academic studios from Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. It will last until May 26. Experimental architecture focuses on new technologies in designing and presenting architecture, such as the use of new computer programs, the application of nanotechnologies, or 3D printing. The Czech experimental scene will be represented by two studios. The first is Miloš Florián together with Lukáš Kurilla, who leads the FLO│W studio as an assistant at the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The second is Studio Architecture 3 from the AAAD with Imrich Vašek and Martin Gsandtner. The Biennale was established at the end of last year by the A3 studio at the AAAD in Prague and the Fragner Gallery in response to the current state of architectural research.
