… it is Thursday
17/9/2009, seemingly an ordinary day … not entirely … schoolchildren and workers head to their obligations, traffic unchanged, the routine of the workday does not impress anyone … So why should this day be any different from the others?

On Thursday 17/9/2009, Pardubice will come alive, break out of its routine, and truly strange things will start to happen here … the final festival of the year-long project OFFCITY will take place here.

The main theme of the OFFCITY festival is a response to the public space of the city, its revitalization, embellishment, and enhancement. It is primarily about presenting and connecting various forms of visual art with theatrical and dance events in the city space.

The festival is intentionally held on a weekday when a large number of people are moving in the center of Pardubice – students and workers, each living their ordinary day. All of them can be participants, observers, or witnesses to the festival events.

The festival's dramaturgy is designed to include events, projects, performances, installations, projections, etc., which may at first glance be difficult to recognize amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, and are preferably interactive. Whether in terms of contact with people or in terms of reacting to a specific location. Our intention is for all or at least the vast majority of these theatrical, dance events, or visual installations to be created specifically for the festival, for a specific place, for a specific situation.

THE PROJECT IS ORGANIZED BY THE O. S. TERRA MADODA WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE VODAFONE FOUNDATION CZECH REPUBLIC AND THE MAGISTRATE OF THE CITY OF PARDUBICE.
