On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 6:00 PM, the vernissage 'Collection' by Jaroslav Sedlák and Šárka Svobodová will take place at the Olomouc Museum of Modern Art. The event will last until July 1, 2015.

"Elements group into larger units, with any number and arrangement of their members. This important property is advantageous for contemporary typological construction."

The exhibition installation by architect Jaroslav Sedlák and architecture theorist Šárka Svobodová reflects the creative process of architects and artists applied in public buildings during the previous regime. The somewhat limited offer of serial interior products often became a source of new qualities and a celebration of the ordinary object.
The vernissage will include a short introduction and discussion with the authors. The light installation thematically relates to the currently ongoing outdoor exhibition 'The Story of Panel Buildings in the Olomouc Region.'
Jaroslav Sedlák (FA VUT Brno) and Šárka Svobodová (FaVU VUT Brno), members of 4AM/ Forum for Architecture and Media, collaborate long-term on the research and lecture project 'Consonance of Modernity,' which focuses on post-war architecture - often rejected for ideological reasons - and its perception and evaluation today. They publish professional texts highlighting the quality of modernist buildings created before 1989 (works by architects Igor Svoboda and Růžena Žertová, the Funeral Hall in Brno-Židenice by Ivan Ruller, and public buildings by Brno architect Jan Dvořák).
The Architecture Theater is a new exhibition, discussion, and lecture platform at the Olomouc Museum of Art, which will provide a background for activities related to architecture. The planned year-round program will focus, among other things, on the presentation of contemporary architecture through temporary interventions by selected architects as well as younger generation historians and theorists of architecture, who will present their work and the topics they have been addressing for a long time.

The exhibition is accessible one hour before events at DH or by prior telephone arrangement (tel. +420 585 514 290).
