Superstudio 2018 - call for registration

For the first time in the eight-year history of the architectural and urban planning conceptual competition Superstudio, students from Slovak universities will also be able to participate. The first round, scheduled for 2nd - 3rd March 2018, will not only include traditional Czech cities (Prague, Brno, Liberec, Ostrava) but will also host Bratislava and Košice. The finale will take place on 10th March 2018 in Bratislava.
Online registration opens on 12th February 2018 on the competition's website.
Since its inception, Superstudio has encouraged critical thinking about architectural themes and contemporary cities with a broader societal impact. The concept of the competition is mainly defined by a strict 24-hour time limit for completing the assignment, which is revealed during the first round. This is immediately followed by a presentation of the projects before a professional jury. The best teams from each city will meet in a public final, where the overall winners will be decided.
Thanks to the competition's expansion abroad, this year for the first time the first round will take place on the academic grounds of all universities teaching architecture in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It will take place on 2nd - 3rd March 2018 at universities in Prague, Bratislava, Brno, Liberec, Ostrava, and Košice, and the best teams will advance to the Czech-Slovak final held on 10th March 2018 in Bratislava. Registration for two to three-member teams composed of students, regardless of their field or year of study, opens on 12th February on the competition's website. The winners will share a record cash prize of 50,000 crowns and other prizes.
