In mid-October, an exhibition of the best student projects that reached the finals of the international architectural and urban planning competition SUPERSTUDIO will take place in the Kampus Hybernská space in Prague. Students addressed visions of affordable housing in city centers with regard to socio-economic consequences. The exhibition opening will take place on October 11, 2018, at 6:00 PM. The eighth edition of the architectural and urban planning conceptual competition for university students took place for the first time in all cities offering architecture education in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A total of 98 teams tackled the challenging brief from Dutch architect Marthijn Pool of the studio Space&Matter in March of this year. Students had 24 hours to develop a concept for financially accessible housing in today’s city centers, considering not only architectural and urban aspects but also economic, social, and communal factors. This resulted in dozens of visions reflecting students' thoughts on the currently very relevant topic. The proposals often balance on the edge of utopia and reality. A total of 18 best projects that made it to the final evening on March 10, 2018, in Bratislava will now be presented in an exhibition in the center of Prague. The exhibition will be opened on October 11 with a vernissage during which the organizers will symbolically conclude this year's edition and also present plans for next year. The informal evening will feature a DJ for musical accompaniment. The exhibition will run until October 16.
