Prostějov

The city of Prostějov has announced an urban competition to address the development of the southern part of the city center. In the area of the current marketplace, cultural center, former soda factory, and Jewish houses demolished during the normalization period, a vibrant piece of the city should be created. Today, the areas are primarily used for spontaneous parking; however, in the future, the city hall plans to build a parking garage, which the competitors are also tasked with placing within the designated area. They are also expected to consider a location for a new city market, as the existing one is already in an unsatisfactory condition.
The results of the competition will be announced at the end of September, and competitors have until September 18, 2019, to submit their proposals. More information and competition conditions can be found on the profile of the contracting authority – the city of Prostějov and on the website of the Czech Chamber of Architects.
