The architectural competition in Hlásná Třebaň has advanced to its next phase. The jury, during its meeting on Monday, September 3, 2018, selected seven teams based on the submitted portfolios, which were invited to submit specific designs for the footbridge. These are:

NOVÁK & PARTNER, s.r.o. and Ing. arch. akad. arch. Libor Kábrt
Blank Tej s.r.o.
Stráský, Hustý and partners, s.r.o.
Ehl & Koumar architects s.r.o.
Ivan Kroupa architects
Pontex Association & Atelier 6
Jurák-Filsak Association of Architects

The client received a total of 21 applications for participation. The high number of applications was also the reason for expanding the number of advancing teams from the expected six to seven. The selected participants were invited to submit proposals by October 31, 2018.
The municipality of Hlásná Třebaň is located on the left bank of the Berounka River, with its "sister" village Zadní Třebaň on the opposite bank. The villages are connected by a pedestrian footbridge from 1960. Due to poor maintenance and several floods, the footbridge is in very poor technical condition and will need to be replaced in the near future. The footbridge is particularly important for the residents of Hlásná Třebaň, as it connects them to the train station on the other bank, which many use for their daily commutes to work or school. Every day, many locals and tourists pass through, drawn by the surrounding landscape, which largely belongs to the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. A busy cycling path from Prague to Karlštejn also runs along the footbridge. It is the largest structure in Hlásná Třebaň, which undeniably influences the face of the village and the surrounding landscape.
The subject of the competition is to develop an architectural and structural design for a new pedestrian and cycling footbridge across the Berounka River. The competition is organized by the municipality of Hlásná Třebaň. The competition has been granted regularity by the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA). The independent part of the jury consists of architects and experts in bridge construction: prof. Ing. arch. Mikro Bauma, doc. Ing. akad. arch. Jana Šépky, Ing. Milan Komínek, Ing. arch. Tomáš Pavlase, and Dr. Ing. Petr Vítek. Prizes totaling 585,000 CZK will be awarded to the competitors.
