The atelier of Karla Hubáčka at the Faculty of Art and Architecture in Liberec transformed for one evening into a vibrant celebration of the traditional student competition Ještěd f kleci. This year's eighteenth edition showcased both semester projects and bachelor's and diploma projects.
The five-member jury consisted of: architect and graduate of the Faculty of Art and Architecture TUL Martin Hejl from the Kolmo atelier, architect Markéta Smrčková from Lennox architekti, Žofie Raimanová from the Public Space Office at the Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague, architect Tadeáš Říha working in London at the studio 6a architects, and architect Michal Šrámek, who, together with Ladislav Lábus, runs an atelier at FA ČVUT.
The jury selected 5+2 projects that they consider representative of the various qualities of the seven Liberec ateliers. The traveling statuette of Ještěd f kleci was awarded to Jakub Trčka for his bachelor's thesis Library in Manhattan.
Among the nominees was atelier Prvok of Vladimír Balda and Jiří Žid, with the assignment Požah, Doupě, Summer Stage, Pavel Uličný and his Neobrane, climate membrane for heat-paralyzed areas, Antonín Hůla with the diploma project Restoration of the Place in Stokách near Žlutice, and Kristina Horváthová with the project Long/Wide/Quick-Sighted.
The jury also awarded atelier Jiřího Klokočky with the assignment Slatiny and the non-competition project Place for the Window! by Martina Bauerová, Dita Petráňová, and Martin Kunc.
Ještěd f kleci, like every semester, took place under the auspices of x-fatul, the association of graduates and friends of the school, and the smooth course of the event was supported by sponsorship gifts from the companies Lasvit, Schüco, Isover, Saint-Gobain, and Graphisoft Archicad. Material prizes for the winners and nominees were donated by Master&Master, Papelote, Zlatá Loď, and ERA21.
