Andrea Pujmanová (bachelor's thesis) - Winery Bílík in Chlumčany near Loun studio: prof. Ing.arch. Zdeněk Fránek / assistant: Ing.arch. Dana Raková
Wine has long been associated with enjoyment, its production is almost a ritual, as well as its tasting. Wine is admired and revered, evaluated and exhibited. There are not many plants that receive such attention. For both the winemaker and the visitor, the visit should be an experience, not just from the wine. Wine is a dominant element of the landscape; the plant tracing the undulating terrain in regular lines provides a sense of harmony and order. It is symmetry in an otherwise organic nature. It shapes the landscape. A landscape transformed by humans. The rows give character to the entire landscape and often to the whole region. Cultivating and producing wine is a fusion of humanity with nature, and this is also true in the design. The object becomes, like the rows, a part of the landscape. It does not disrupt it; it complements it. The vineyard rows transition into slowly rising walls that follow the undulations of the terrain. At the end, they begin to rise from the slope in their full size to create entrances to the building. The module of individual walls is the module of the distance between individual vineyard rows (which is 3.25 meters). The object becomes a part of the vineyard. The vineyard is situated in a unique location, and due to the protection against the northern wind provided by Malý and Blšanský Chlum, an exceptional climate ideal for growing vines has developed here. From Blšanský Chlum, remarkable for its basalt rock emerging to the surface, there is a beautiful view of the entire vineyard plot. From here, the entire principle of the building is visible. Symmetry, lines, order. The intertwining of architecture, the phenomenon of wine, and nature. The object is intended to have a subtle presence and to shape the atmosphere of winemaking in its full strength.
