The Czech Chamber of Architects has announced the 7th year of the Czech Architecture Award. The competition is open to architectural realizations built on the territory of the Czech Republic over the past five years. Architects can submit their works until April 10, 2022. Traditionally, the credibility of the Czech Architecture Award is supported by a prestigious seven-member international jury. The significance of the Czech Architecture Award lies not only in its year-round and regional promotion of architecture. The submission process takes place via an online form and is not associated with any costs for the participating architects. The results will be announced at a ceremonial gala evening, which will take place in November 2022.
“We are pleased to be the general partner of such a prestigious competition as the Czech Architecture Award organized by the Czech Chamber of Architects, as the largest residential builder this year as well. It is important for new modern buildings to arise in the Czech Republic; without them, society does not progress. And quality architecture is what elevates these buildings above the average and gives them great added value,” says Dušan Kunovský, founder and head of Central Group.
The results will be decided by an international expert jury, which will select a narrower range of nominated works by the end of May 2022. From this number, about 5 to 10 works will be selected in September and awarded the honorary title of Finalist of the Czech Architecture Award, from which the main prize winner will be chosen. Traditionally, an award for exceptional achievement will also be granted, which is selected by the Academy and the Council of the Czech Architecture Award, as well as partner awards, whose laureates are proposed by the award partners.

International Expert Jury
The work of Czech architects will be traditionally evaluated by seven knowledgeable foreign experts.
They include architect Ueli Brauen (Switzerland), architect Katalin Csillag (Hungary), architect and urban planner Patrick Koschuch (Netherlands), architect Pavol Mikolajčák (Slovakia, Italy), architect, urban planner, and academic Marialessandra Secchi (Italy), architect, urban planner, and academic Els Verbakel (Belgium, Israel), and landscape architect and academic Kathrin Volk (Germany).

Who can apply for the Czech Architecture Award?
Authors can submit their works to the competition showcase, which intentionally does not have any established categories, for works realized in the territory of the Czech Republic over the past five years. This means completed buildings built from January 2017 to December 2021. Works that reached the narrower nominations in last year and the year before are excluded from entering the competition. Architects can insert their realizations into a simple online form. For 2022, the Czech Chamber of Architects is preparing regional events as in previous years, related to both the presentation of the finalists of 2021 and the future nominated works for 2022.

Academy of the Czech Architecture Award
In addition to works submitted by authors themselves, the Academy of the Czech Architecture Award can also initiate the submission of noteworthy buildings. It is also responsible for nominations for exceptional achievements in the field of architecture.
