The Czech Chamber of Architects has announced the 6th year of the Czech Architecture Award. The competition showcase is open to architectural realizations built on the territory of the Czech Republic in the last five years. Architects can submit their works until April 19, 2021. Traditionally, the credit of the Czech Architecture Award is supported by a prestigious seven-member international jury. The significance of the Czech Architecture Award lies, among other things, in year-round and regional promotion of architecture. Registration will again take place in the form of an online form and is not associated with any costs for the participating architects. The results will be announced at a festive gala evening, which will take place in November 2021. The general partner of the showcase remains the CENTRAL GROUP company for the third consecutive year.

The results will be decided by an international expert jury, which will select a narrower range of nominated works by the end of May 2021. From this number, approximately 5 to 10 works will be awarded the honorary title of Czech Architecture Award Finalist, from which the main prize winner will be chosen. An additional award for exceptional achievement will also be granted, selected by the Academy and the Committee of the Czech Architecture Award, as well as partner awards, whose laureates are proposed by the award partners.

International Expert Jury
The works of Czech architects will traditionally be judged by seven knowledgeable foreign experts.
They are architect Bart Brands (Netherlands), architect and academic Eduardo Cadaval (Spain, Mexico), architect and educator Irakli Eristavi (Slovakia), architect and dean of the faculty of architecture and urban planning at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa Yasha Grobman (Israel), architect, urban planner and academic Antonio Longo (Italy), architect Balász Marián (Hungary) and landscape architect Peter Veenstra (Netherlands).

Who can apply for the Czech Architecture Award?
In the competition showcase, which intentionally has no defined categories, authors can submit their works realized on the territory of the Czech Republic over the last five years in 2020. This includes completed buildings built from January 2016 to December 2020. Works that reached the narrower circle of nominations in last year’s and the year before's edition are excluded from participation in the competition. Architects can submit their realizations through a simple online form. For 2021, the Czech Chamber of Architects is preparing regional events connected not only with the presentation of the finalists of 2020 but also with future nominated works for 2021.

Academy of the Czech Architecture Award
In addition to the works submitted by the authors themselves, the Academy of the Czech Architecture Award can also initiate the nomination of remarkable buildings. It is also responsible for the nomination for exceptional achievement in the field of architecture.
