When architect Kamil Mrva built his studio on his grandfather's plot, the neighbors thought it was some kind of strange barn. And then he started planting such houses one after another. It has been twenty-five years since his buildings have been growing in the landscape below the Beskids – single-family homes, a grocery store, or a fire station in the village of Trojanovice, and the cable car station on the highest Beskid mountain, Radhošť. Today, his contemporary but humble architecture is present everywhere in harmony with the place. Director Jiří Kout will take the architect back to his childhood room in an apartment building in Kopřivnice, to family houses and villas for his clients, and to Pustevny. This Wallachian Václavák, however, annoys the architect a bit, just like the small proportions and the traps set by officials. A discussion with Karolína Vránková and Kamil Mrva will follow the screening. Jiří Kout / Czech Republic / 2024 / 52 min. / Czech language
