Malinský Villa

The plot is located in Prague-Kobylisy on the edge of a sandstone cliff, bordering a valley with low buildings of old Kobylisy at a height of approximately twenty meters. The house thus enjoys an extraordinary panoramic view of the expansive Prague basin. However, the downside of these qualities is the small size of the plot (a mere 319 m²).
The operational requirements and the exceptional nature of the plot have defined the entire construction program vertically. The building thus becomes a dignified partner to the horizontally oriented house of the neighbor. In the layout, we can sense the inspiration from Loos's "raumplan," where the social part exceeds the operational. The interior is then in perfect harmony with the masses of the exterior, featuring three cleanly interconnected cuboids in the colors of Pompeian red, olive green, and grayish-purple lilac.
