QUESTION

However. It is still skin.

What underneath?

Spodium of bones.

And is it love already?

I mean: depth.

Jiří Staněk – Oort Cloud, 1995

The building is located in a high-quality residential villa area Podolí, on a vast plot with a significant height difference.
The villa responds to the steep slope of the land going northeast and allows, both through its spatial arrangement and the terraced garden design, to utilize a significant part of the plot in a mostly barrier-free manner.
The building is two stories, partially basement, generally in the shape of the letter "L", which opens to the west into the garden and provides an attractive view of the Vltava River and the opposite hill Dívčí hrady. From the street Na vrstvách, where the main entrance to the house is located and also the entrance to the garage, only the upper floor is visually prominent, making the house appear single-story.
The individual wings at the ground level consist of: the living area in the northwest wing and the bedroom area in the southwest wing. Between the two wings is a deep terrace, open across both above-ground floors, covered by a roof. Continuing from the terrace's wedge, an elevator is situated in the interior, right in the center of the layout, connecting all three height levels in a barrier-free manner and consequently most of the garden.
The roof above the terrace is extended in front of the western facade of the northwest wing, covering the continuation of the terrace in front of the living space. The object is formally closed on the outer sides and conversely opened by removing mass towards the garden and distant views. The concept of the external skin surface and internal family, intimate, soft semi-atrium is also expressed materially – a mosaic created by brick cladding outside, contrasted with the layering of wooden materials for sliding blinds and cladding of walls, terrace, and ceiling towards the garden.
The floor plan of the villa, divided by an atrium into two parts, is unified by the arch of the roof into a single whole.
The entrance to the villa is located at the eastern corner of the building - the entrance hall, with a cloakroom and skylight to the ground floor, connects to the garage and storage areas in the "bedroom" wing and to the hall with vertical communications in the living wing.
Extending the entrance axis takes us to the upper level of the main living space with a view down, which serves as an office.
On the ground floor is the lower, main part of the living space. The terrace allows connection to the garden and an outdoor covered seating area. We enter the bedroom part of the ground floor through a cloakroom - corridor, from which the individual rooms, oriented to the garden, are accessible.
The basement houses the technical facilities of the building. From the stairwell, we can enter directly into the garden at the basement level, underneath the residential part's console. The atrium below the ground floor terrace allows direct access from the garden to the individual cellars and storage areas.
