Reconstruction and interior of the apartment

Reconstruction and interior of the apartment
Completion:2005
Area:55 m2

55 m² IN PRAGUE AT LETNÁ

Almost nothing from the original furnishings of the apartment in the building from 1909 has been preserved. Therefore, we first stripped the entire interior of all disturbing alterations. We thus returned the individual spaces and elements to their original dimensions. New, purely geometric volumes were subsequently inserted into the cleaned unit.
These elements housing the furnishings of the apartment are designed with a certain overlap; they do not completely replicate the original division of the spaces. Nevertheless, they clearly delineate and organize. The furniture has been custom-designed and built-in, making it an organic part of the apartment; it is not "brought in." The difference between furnishing and being furnished is deliberately obscured. This effect is enhanced by the variable, mutually complementary colors.
With the help of movable elements and fabrics, it is possible to return to the traditional division of spaces at any time - the apartment thus transforms over time, appearing larger and airier than it actually is.
