In principle, it is actually about the enclosure of the "brewery" awning, which has been permitted in this location in previous years. However, this type product in the specified dimensions and area struggles to respond to the specifics of the site; its visible steel foundations have difficulty adapting to the slope of the sidewalk, and a necessary component is also a weight in the form of debatable concrete planters... and all of this adversely affects both the expression and usage.
The proposed form of the spatial installation allowed for the elimination of these debatable elements. The base of the awning is hidden under the platform of the garden, and the necessary load/weight is replaced by the mass of the wooden structure. It consists of slats assembled in a similar logic as in the interior of the restaurant that the garden serves, namely as a stylized analogy of log construction, made from colorless impregnated slats of softwood (pine, spruce) with profiles of 50 × 50/75/100 and 125 mm, arranged in a chosen rhythm and with gaps of the same modulation.
In its basic form, this archetypally conceived shape fills the space unevenly, organically thickening or conversely loosening in the logic intertwining the need to delineate the garden space from the surroundings with the need for its shielding or, conversely, accessibility in certain positions, and also with the described constructive logic, binding to the stability requirements of the mentioned type product.
The entire assembly is made from pre-prepared pieces, so it can be easily disassembled (it is a seasonal installation for the months of April–October), and the pieces are anchored to a also disassemblable platform, made of a grid of wooden beams and a cover of boards. The stiffening of the structure is then carried out in the center of the floor plan in the form of a "beam" made of slats, corresponding to the mentioned profiling.
The furniture/mobiliary is exclusively lightweight, consisting of metal chairs and tables in dark green, combined with dark gray bases (again, same as the interior of the restaurant).
