Intercantonal Forestry School

The construction of the school with a dormitory is being carried out exactly according to the winning competition design. Above the 160-meter-long terrace on the roof of the unifying base, a cube of classrooms and their adjacent rooms hovers. The entrance floor beneath it is glazed and allows a view from the road to the forest. On the back part of the base, four dormitory bodies rest, which are interconnected with the school and with each other via a covered external footbridge. The forestry school is the largest wooden building in Central Europe.

A large number of offices participated in such a monumental project, including: Itten + Brechbühl, Peter Baumgartner, Daniel Burkhart, Nick Gartenmann, Lukas Scheuner, Daniel Ulrich, Martin Weibel.
