The New Theatre is part of the new theatre building, which was opened on 2 September 2014. The architectural concept was created by Vladimír Kružík from Helika company on the basis of an original design by a Portuguese architectural office, Contemporânea Lda. The author of the painted curtain is academic painter Ivana Hejduková from the KVADRA association. The character of the building is completed by a unique precast concrete facade with ‘bubble perforation’ weighing more than a hundred tons, which is illuminated by colour-changing LED spotlights. The New Theatre complex consists of two buildings - theatre and operations.
It includes two venues. The New Stage with the capacity of 461 seats and the intimate The Small Stage, whose biggest advantage is a variable auditorium with the capacity of up to 120 seats. Both venues have wheelchair access.
