Biography
Zvi Tadeusz Hecker was born on May 31, 1931, in Krakow, Poland. He studied architecture at the Krakow Polytechnic from 1949 to 1950. In 1950, he moved to Israel, where he studied at the Technion in Haifa from 1950 to 1955. He studied painting at the Avni Academy in Tel Aviv from 1955 to 1957. After completing two years of military service, he opened his own architectural office in 1959 together with Alfred Neumann (until 1996) and Eldar Sharon (until 1964). As a visiting professor, he taught at Laval University School of Architecture in Quebec, Canada (1969-72), University of Texas School of Architecture in Arlington (1977), Washington University School of Architecture in St. Louis (1979), and State University School of Architecture (1980).
