The linden tree - The chateau in Petrkov, where the poet and graphic artist Bohuslav Reynek lived, is for sale. The owners decided to sell for personal reasons, said Reynek's granddaughter Veronika Reynková today to ČTK, who stated that she is a co-owner of the property. The chateau is being advertised by the real estate agency M&M reality. The price has not been disclosed. Real estate agent Kamil Benc told ČTK today that he would only disclose it to serious interested parties after consulting with the sellers.
The one-story chateau has been protected as a monument since 2009. The agent mentioned that he contacted local governments and the National Heritage Institute with the offer. According to him, the responses received so far have been negative.
A park and outbuildings adjoin the chateau. According to the advertisement, the sale includes forests, arable land, and two ponds. In total, there is 92,198 m² of area. According to the advertisement, the chateau could possibly house a museum or serve as a representative company residence or family residence.
On the ground floor of the chateau, there are two two-room apartment units currently used by the owners. Renovations are underway in the main part of the building, the real estate agency stated.
Poet, graphic artist, and translator Bohuslav Reynek (1892 to 1971) spent nearly his entire life in his native Petrkov. He lived there with his wife, poetess Suzanne Renaud. The chateau was later owned by their sons, photographer Daniel and translator Jiří. In 2014, both passed away shortly after each other, and the property passed to their descendants.
Bohuslav Reynek's works were prohibited from being published or exhibited from 1948 until the mid-sixties. He received full recognition only after the fall of communism.
