Reconstructed LD Seating showroom: A combination of elegance and functionality in one space

The Czech family company LD Seating, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of seating, boasts a brand new reconstructed showroom on Rohanské nábřeží in Prague. Thanks to collaboration with the Holešovice architectural studio archicraft, the showroom has transformed into a modern, elegant, and thoughtfully designed space that offers a fresh view on the presentation of seating furniture and reflects current trends in interior design.
“For some time, we felt that the showroom needed a refresh to better reflect our development and current trends. When the studio archicraft approached us, we knew it was the right path. The entire process from design to realization went smoothly, with minimal interventions on our part,” says Jakub Huráb, managing director of LD Seating.

Inspiration from world showrooms and emphasis on light

The new showroom concept is inspired by the showrooms of renowned brands in the London district of Clerkenwell, which is a significant global design hub. The emphasis is primarily on working with lighting, which plays a key role in the overall arrangement of the space.

The central area of the showroom is dominated by a well-lit ceiling, which adds airiness to the interior. The light LED panels and spot lighting in the main boulevard of the showroom create an atmosphere reminiscent of a theater stage, adding drama and prestige to the displayed products. The entire space is then divided into clusters using semi-transparent textile partitions, making it easier for customers to navigate between different types of furniture and design families.

Presentation of furniture in the windows and inside the showroom

Particular attention is paid to the showroom windows, which were almost unused before the renovation. “We wanted the windows to be visually interesting not only for pedestrians but also for passing cars. Therefore, we worked with different height levels and playful compositions to ensure that the furniture in the window stands out from any angle,” explains Miroslav Krátký, founder of the studio archicraft.

Products are presented in the interior either on minimalist shelves that allow customers to thoroughly examine and feel them, or they are placed directly on the floor or on a podium for direct testing. For the architects, it was important that the space felt clean and did not detract from the impression of the products themselves – everything is designed to keep the exhibited chairs, armchairs, and other seating in the center of attention.

A place for meetings and gatherings

In addition to the space for product presentation, the showroom also includes an area for business meetings and informal gatherings. The semi-open meeting room with glass walls allows for maintaining contact with the showroom while providing sufficient privacy for business negotiations. This space is equipped with simple yet elegant furniture made of high-pressure laminate, which fits naturally into the overall concept. A striking light fixture in natural tones above the meeting table adds coziness to the room and emphasizes the harmony between functionality and aesthetics.

“We completed the entire project in collaboration with the architects from studio archicraft and the company Unlimit Db, which managed the reconstruction. Both teams did a fantastic job, and we are thrilled with the new showroom. We would like to invite everyone to come and see for themselves and to experience our products firsthand,” concludes Jakub Huráb.
