Do you know what movies like James Bond, Demolition Man, Mission Impossible, and Minority Report have in common? In all these films, the heroes encounter various forms of biometric systems - fingerprint scanners, retina sensors, etc.

What was previously visible only in films or a privilege of specialized workplaces is now a common reality: fingerprint scanners integrated into laptops, tablets, or mobile phones, but also as access systems in office buildings or households. And the world leader in this field is the company ekey, exclusively supplied to the Czech and Slovak markets by Elektro-System-Technik s.r.o. Its products excel in advanced technology, guarantee maximum security, and easy usage. Last but not least, they are also representative from a design perspective, so they do not disturb the appearance of the interior or the building. Discover the advantages of biometric systems and ekey products, and you'll find that your finger is the best key!

What is biometrics?
Biometrics is an automatic authentication method based on recognizing unique biological characteristics of a subject - a living person. The method is based on the knowledge that certain biological characteristics (morphological, physiological) are unique and immutable for every living person. Biometric access systems from ekey are based on fingerprint biometrics.

Is the fingerprint scanner system safe?
The reliability of systems based on fingerprint scanning is often debated. There are concerns that it could be possible to take someone's fingerprint anywhere, create an artificial finger, and deceive the scanner with it. In reality, it is very difficult to obtain a fingerprint of a specific person, even if it were your colleague at work. A study conducted by forensic experts specializing in collecting fingerprints at crime scenes states that fingerprints left at workplaces, on glasses, glossy surfaces, and so on are usually incomplete, obscured by the same prints, or smudged, hence not of sufficient quality to be used for biometric authentication. Moreover, the costs of manufacturing a truly functioning imitation of a finger would be too high, given the materials and complex procedures, for it to be worthwhile for anyone.

The reliability of keys/locks is evaluated with the FAR (False Acceptance Rate) coefficient, which is the probability of being unlocked by an unauthorized person. The EKEY system has a FAR = 1:10,000,000.

Ekey - European market leader
Combination of biometrics and contactless RFID card
Founded in 1999, ekey is now the market leader in Europe in access systems using fingerprints. With ekey, you have certainty! More than one million satisfied users in over 70 countries worldwide are proof of the rapid expansion of ekey products among end customers and companies. The advantages of using a fingerprint scanner are clear and convincing. Keys, cards, codes, etc., can be lost, forgotten, or stolen, but you always have your finger!

The wide range of ekey products includes fingerprint scanners for doors, gates, security devices, or attendance systems. There is also a solution for existing doors, without the need for replacement, or a combination of biometrics and RFID card readers.

Practical solution for existing doors

Convenient access control via Bluetooth
Features of ekey biometric systems:

  • Opening doors, gates, or (de)activating the security system with a simple swipe of a finger
  • Permissions can be assigned by the user without the need for a technician or PC
  • Easy control using a mobile app via Bluetooth (BT products)
  • No possibility to manipulate the system from the outside

Variants of access systems
Ekey has developed three variants of access systems: HOME for individual access solutions, MULTI for multiple access solutions, and NET for network access solutions.

1. Home - individual access solutions
Fingerprint scanner for the entrance door of a family house or office. The system features quick installation and intuitive operation. 1 fingerprint scanner combined with one control unit can recognize up to 99 fingers. 1-3 relays, easy commissioning. It can be purchased on est-shop.cz as a set of a control unit, fingerprint scanner, and power supply.

2. Multi - multiple access solutions
A revolutionary access system allowing you to control up to 4 fingerprint scanners in a small network. Programming takes place without a computer directly on the assigned control unit. Extraordinary comfort that was previously implemented via complex system management.

3. Net - network access solutions
A network access control system with a client/server architecture. From the office door to the server room to the laboratory, all access rights can be unified and centrally managed. These rights are entered using convenient software. Ekey net supports various third-party database interfaces.
