Classic door frames no longer meet the criteria for a modern interior look. Minimalist design and clean aesthetics are brought by concealed frames, which can take the form of a subtle visible frame or be completely without casing. Both options have their specifics and offer something different to the interior.
Traditional casing frames often do not fit the interior look, showcasing structural components whose visibility is undesirable and disrupting the uniform line of the doors and walls. The casing-free design simply and elegantly conceals all elements within the frame and door structure. "The technological foundation of concealed frames consists of solid profiles made of anodized aluminum, which allow for either the installation of a visible aluminum frame or form only an internal hidden part that is covered by the exterior paint or wall finish," explains Mr. Petr Paksi, Executive Director of J.A.P., the only Czech manufacturer of concealed frames.

The desired design purity of the casing-free solution is not disturbed by hinges, as concealed 3D adjustable hinges are recessed into the frame. Concealed frames are suitable for both dry and wet construction, can be installed in sloped attic spaces, and also come in a version without a transom, even in non-standard heights up to 3700 mm.
There are two types of concealed frames for hinged doors - EMOTIVE and AKTIVE - making it easy to find a suitable solution for any interior.
Concealed Frame EMOTIVE
The aluminum profile of this type of frame is completely hidden in the partition, with a subtle external aluminum frame measuring 18 mm in width attached, which protects the passage from mechanical damage, is flush with the wall, and also serves a design function. In the basic version, the frame and visible frame come in anodized aluminum finish, but any RAL color finish is also possible.
Concealed Frame AKTIVE
The construction of the internal aluminum system AKTIVE is designed to create an edge for the passage, meaning it is a solution completely without an external frame. Precision and cleanliness in the execution of the construction opening, where the system is to be embedded, are crucial, as well as careful installation of the concealed frame. The AKTIVE system is intended for doors with a thickness of 40 mm and is produced in two types - the half-lap version AKTIVE 25/15 and the flush version AKTIVE 40/00. "The combination of both frame variants is ideal when we need one set of hinged doors to open towards each other and another set to open away from each other, which is called reverse opening," states Mr. Petr Paksi and adds: "From the visible side, both doors and the partition can be perfectly aligned."
The casing-free solution is also possible for pocket doors, so a consistent design can be maintained in the interior even when combining both types of door wing openings. The casing-free frame solution is completely universal, finding its application in family houses, apartments, and even commercial spaces.
