The competition for the design of the fountain in Třebíč was won by a Prague studio

Třebíč - The architectural competition for the design of the fountain in Třebíč's Karlovo Square was won by the Prague studio H3T architekti s. r. o. The jury appreciated the transparency and lightness of the proposed structure, as well as its undeniability. The competition was organized by the town hall in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Architects, which published the results on its website. The fountain, valued at around four million crowns, will be built as part of the planned renovation of the square.

Deputy Mayor Marie Černá (Třebíč my home), who was a member of the jury, previously stated that the operational economy of the fountain would also be an evaluation criterion. According to the jurors, the winning design meets this requirement. It takes the form of a subtle circle almost levitating over the square, where the wall of the fountain is created by a stream of water. The jury described it as an urban jewel.

According to its coordinator Jaroslav Hulín, 27 designs were submitted for the competition announced in the spring. The reward for the winner is 80,000 crowns. The second place in the competition went to Adam Hudec's design, and the third to Milan Grygar's design. Their rewards in the competition are 60,000 and 40,000 crowns respectively.

Třebíč has been intensively preparing the reconstruction of Karlovo Square for the last three years due to the necessity of replacing the engineering networks beneath the square. The Brno studio RAW developed a study for the city, proposing to place two fountains in the square. In the eastern part of the square, the fountain could have a historicizing form corresponding to the original fountain from the 19th century. The design of the fountain in the western part of the square was addressed by the architectural competition.
