Karel Hubáček Competition – Building of the Year Liberec Region 2019

Until May 31, 2019, at 12:00 PM, it is still possible to submit an application to the KÚ office for the Karel Hubáček Competition - Building of the Year of the Liberec Region 2019. Further information about the competition, including applications, is available on the website www.stavbaroku.lk

The Liberec Region announced, under the auspices of Governor Martin Půta and regional council member Radka Loučková Kotasová and in collaboration with the cities of Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou, Turnov, Semily, and organizations ČKAIT, ČSSI, TUL, ARR, the 15th year of the competition Building of the Year of the Liberec Region, which, from this year, bears the name "Karel Hubáček Competition."

Through this competition, interesting buildings, their authors, implementers, and talented students in the fields of construction, architecture, and building crafts from the Liberec Region will be highlighted.

Categories in which interested parties can compete for awards in construction and architecture:

1. KAREL HUBÁČEK AWARD is announced as the main award of the competition, commemorating the exceptionally significant personality of this architect, recognized with global awards, who has significantly marked the history of architecture, not only in the Liberec Region.
The award will be given for the realization of a building or the realization of a public space and landscape located in the Liberec Region or related to the Liberec Region.
The categories are: Building – new constructions, reconstructions, residential buildings, and civic amenities, industrial and technological constructions, heritage sites, brownfields, etc., and Public Space and Landscape.

2. INNOVATION AWARD, whose mission is to present exceptional and innovative solutions implemented by construction specialists living in the Liberec Region, whether they realized their work anywhere in the world or are construction specialists who do not reside in the Liberec Region but whose work is located there. The aim of the award is to present innovative activities and unconventional approaches in construction.

3. JUNIOR AWARD is intended for students of secondary, higher, and higher education institutions focused on construction and architecture, under 30 years of age. The goal is to capture interest and recognize the talents of the young, upcoming generation in construction in the Liberec Region.

4. PERSONALITY IN CONSTRUCTION AWARD is announced to commemorate exceptionally significant personalities living in the Liberec Region. The evaluation will particularly emphasize long-term and exemplary activity in the field of construction.

A jury composed of representatives from the Liberec Region, the cities, the Czech Chamber of Accredited Engineers and Technicians active in construction, the Union of Entrepreneurs in Construction, the Czech Union of Construction Engineers, the Technical University of Liberec, and independent personalities will nominate buildings that meet the competition conditions, subsequently familiarize themselves with the technical parameters during the author's presentation and also visit the buildings.

5. PUBLIC AWARD is awarded based on the result of a public internet vote, which will take place on the website www.stavbaroku.lk from June 15, 2019, to
October 15, 2019
