Renovation of the administrative building of the company JAF HOLZ in Rokycany

Wood is our life - this is the company slogan of the Austrian family business JAF HOLZ, and from the wide range of large-format materials, timber, and veneers that JAF HOLZ offers, every manufacturer and consumer can truly find something suitable. Today, the group has 52 branches in 14 countries, including the Czech Republic, and one of them is the branch in Rokycany, which after 12 years of operation decided to expand its administrative premises. This happened in 2011 in the form of an extension, which was implemented by the installers of Atrium Horažďovice using FERMACELL materials - a company that is among the leading suppliers of prefabricated low-energy and passive wooden buildings in the Czech Republic. More than 50 qualified workers design and process over 80 houses each year.

On the load-bearing prefabricated walls of the extension, wall 1HT11 with a wooden structure and a 15 mm FERMACELL fiberboard facing was used for the investor's demands on fire and static resistance and high sound insulation requirements. This wall construction has an airborne sound insulation Rw = 43 dB and is therefore ideal not only for administrative buildings but also for hospitals or residential construction. A 4-6 cm thick layer of FERMACELL leveling underlay, a 150 mm layer of polystyrene, and a 25 mm FERMACELL 2E22 floor element were placed on the ceiling structure of the Rokycany extension. The FERMACELL 2 E 22 floor element, composed of two 12.5 mm thick FERMACELL boards, serves as a walking surface while also improving impact and airborne sound insulation.

In the showers, the FERMACELL Powerpanel TE System for floor drainage was used, which consists of a floor drain/shower element and a drainage set, optionally with vertical or horizontal outflow. This floor drain system is not only supportive of barrier-free living but also caters to architects and designers looking for modern economic solutions. The elements consist of two Powerpanel TE boards for wet areas, the lower board is 10mm thick and overhangs at the perimeter as an installation base by 50mm, while the upper board is 25mm thick at the outer edge and slopes downwards approximately 2% towards the opening. The implementation of the FERMACELL shower element is very quick, and various sizes are additionally available (500x500 mm, 1000x1000 mm, and 1200x1200 mm).
