Saint-Gobain Construction Products CZ a.s. Rigips

Rigips, a leading manufacturer of materials for drywall construction, introduces a revolutionary solution for acoustic ceilings – a unique application that allows you to easily visualize and simulate an acoustic ceiling directly in a real room. With the new application, you will be able to get a real idea of how your chosen solution would look in just a few minutes, including the ability to calculate the basic price for the materials.
The application Rigips Ceiling Visualization is available for devices running on Android and iOS, and is designed for architects, designers, construction companies, and enthusiasts who take on interior modifications themselves. Through sharing, you can easily present your design to customers, family, friends, or colleagues in your team. However, what is even more enticing is the possibility of instant material cost estimation directly for the ceiling you designed. Just click the "Calculate" button, and the application will quickly redirect you to Rigips Professional Calculator, where you will obtain the basic price for the material either per square meter or for the entire ceiling area.

The simple and intuitive control of the application allows you to quickly and easily create an acoustic ceiling design in three simple steps:

1. Scanning the floor – determining the layout: Just point your phone at the floor and gradually click on the individual corners of the room. The application will then connect all points into a blue perimeter, creating an accurate layout of the room.

2. Transferring the layout to the ceiling: Next, you will point your phone at the ceiling, allowing the application to detect the ceiling height. The white outlines based on the created layout will then be transferred to the ceiling. If necessary, you can easily adjust the ceiling height using a slider.

3. Selecting the material: You now have the option to choose from a wide range of Rigips acoustic materials, such as Gyptone BIG, Rigitone perforated acoustic boards or lamellas and Gyptone ceiling tiles. You can also choose the type of substructure, whether you want a visible, semi-recessed, or hidden grid. The resulting ceiling can be rotated as needed to achieve the best result.

A few tips for working with the application:
  • For the best result, it is advisable to carefully determine the corners of the room.
  • Ensure appropriate lighting conditions.
  • Use updated mobile devices.
  • Avoid abrupt and rapid movements of the phone around the room.
Why is it worth considering an acoustic ceiling at all?

Quality acoustics are a key factor in all spaces where it is necessary to understand spoken words well. Lecture halls, conference rooms, meeting rooms, ballrooms, or classrooms – in all these spaces, acoustics play an important role. However, even within a home environment, quality acoustics are valued, especially if we want to enjoy great sound while watching movies or listening to music.

The correct reverberation time (i.e., the time it takes for an echo to be heard) is crucial for achieving optimal acoustics. A reverberation time that is too long causes unwanted echoes, while a time that is too short can lead to excessive damping of the room. The standard ČSN 73 0527 specifies optimal reverberation time values for public spaces, cultural venues, and spaces in schools.

If you are hesitant and unsure which material and design to choose, try using the Acoustic application

This application will provide you with an indicative acoustic assessment that specifies which products from the portfolio of perforated Rigips materials are best suited for the given room and in what minimum area you need to use them. For an exact acoustic calculation with distribution and simulation of the actual space, it is necessary to contact specialized acoustic offices directly.
