The PREFA FX.12 roofing with a small format is unique due to its irregular surface breaks, which allow for the creation of a futuristic design for modern roofs or facades. The FX.12 aluminum roofing thus offers a different view from every angle due to the endless interplay of light and shadows.
To maintain the irregularity of the surface, each FX.12 panel is unique from production. The slight irregularities of the surface do not repeat, and even on large surfaces, they are uneven. Besides the individual optical appearance, it offers a range of practical advantages in processing – these meet all the requirements of both modern and traditional metalworking.
The FX.12 roofing is made from high-quality aluminum with a thickness of 0.7 mm. It is therefore not only very lightweight (2.3 kg/m2) but also unbreakable, malleable, exceptionally stable, corrosion-resistant, and maintenance-free. It is laid on solid sheathing, on roofs with a slope of 17 degrees or more. It is available in either long (1400 x 420 mm) or short (700 x 420 mm) rectangular shapes. This allows for laying in bond, which is particularly important for preserving the visually interesting appearance of the roof or facade, and which increases the strength of the roofing material itself. There are many color shades to choose from, including popular dark brown, anthracite, light gray, slate, or dark red, suitable for both roofing and facades. The manufacturer provides a 40-year warranty on the material and color, similar to its other products.

Eases the life of metalworkers The installation of the FX.12 roofing is simple thanks to clever connection details and the included assembly instructions. It is threaded in bond with a minimum overlap of 25 cm using the so-called conical standing groove. This guarantees optimal protection against rain, moisture, and wind, minimizes transverse deformations, and ensures self-cleaning by washing away dirt from the grooves, for example, during rain. Individual panels also feature pre-punched holes for securing with nails or screws on solid sheathing. Therefore, they do not require separate fasteners. Additionally, due to the regular shape, there is no need to mark the area during installation. A further advantage of the FX.12 roofing is that it compensates for any minor irregularities in the substrate. In short, the FX.12 has all the attributes that make life easier for metalworkers.

Mike Bucher, Managing Director of PREFA Group, adds: "We are proud to offer another basic product alongside the folded tile, template, and shingle that corresponds to the roots of the metalworking craft. The installation of the PREFA FX.12 roof and facade panel is easy and quick, and the product meets all functional and technical requirements."
Guaranteed to be better PREFA is not only a strong partner for demanding, maintenance-free, and functional architecture but has always been synonymous with creative roofs and facades. With the new FX.12 roof and facade covering, it presents another visual and technological innovation. The FX.12 product will make its debut at the 14th International Roof Trade Fair Střechy Praha at the Prague Exhibition Center from February 8 to 11, 2012, booth no. 322.
