The Faculty of Design and Art Ladislav Sutnar of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen presented one of its exhibitions in atypical CITY modules of trapezoidal shape produced by the Czech company KOMA as part of Designblok 14. The interesting containers stand right in the center of Prague on Na Příkopech Street.
Na Příkopech Street is one of the busiest and most attractive places in Prague regarding pedestrians, with thousands of people passing through it daily since it connects Náměstí Republiky with Václavské Náměstí. It is pleasing that the street, full of historic buildings and shops with fashion brands, offers a relaxation zone in containers that look simply great.

The Faculty of Design and Art divided the exhibition in the containers into two parts, or rather into two creative groups. The KYČN group created a gaming relaxation area in one CITY module, where passersby can play the computer game Zubozem on tablets developed by FDU ZČU students in collaboration with the Dental Care House and VZP. The tablets are placed on a table made of OSB boards. The boards are painted black, just like most of the exhibition, and the light OSB boards, which serve as both doors and walls of the containers, are in pleasant tension with the predominantly black yet playful interior of both CITY modules.

The second container is designed by the SKLENÍK group and is a humorous gym. In it, people can run a marathon (if they run around the container 3,500 times), exercise on a horse and parallel bars, or try running 4.6 meters. That the SKLENÍK group takes its activity seriously can be confirmed not only by the video spot http://vimeo.com/108446159, but also on the pages of Kontejrun.

As we mentioned earlier, the container exhibition is realized in close collaboration with the Visovice company KOMA, which has recently attracted attention mainly by constructing the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2015 in Milan. Martin Hart from KOMA explains how their CITY modules fit into historic Prague: "We produce all sorts of structures from living modules, including kindergartens and hospitals, but we developed CITY modules to enliven public spaces. And a small gym where you can play sports through obstacle courses certainly fulfills that."

The Pilsen Faculty of Design and Art simply scored at Designblok. Moreover, its main presentation in the House at the Minute on the 3rd floor, called Black.byt, which presents the concept of black-and-white interior design, won the Designblok 2014 Editor's Award for the best school presentation.

The project for revitalizing urban spaces with CITY modules comes from the Chybik+Krištof AA studio, and you can view more CITY modules at the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
